What is the numerology and meaning of 8/8, the LIONSGATE portal?

Numerology is based on the premise that everything has an energy attached to it.  We can “read” deeper into a situation by looking at the energy vibration of the numbers the situation is associated with.  Here we are considering what is the significance of the upcoming August date of 8/8.   Historically it is called LIONSGATE, or Lion’s Gateway, probably due to the astrological influence of Leo.  Lionsgate is connected to star “Sirius”.

The star SIRIUS and Astronomy

Throughout the year Sirius is the brightest star in the night sky.  It is nicknamed the “dog-star” as it is part of the Canis Major constellation.   And the expression “dog-days” refers to the period between July and August when Sirius and our Sun rise together (in conjunction).

Practically speaking early August each year is significant from an energy perspective as it the period when Sirius is closest to the Earth. 

Astrology’s premise is that we are affected by the proximity of planets and stars to Earth, and we can read meaning into the changes in the skies.

LIONSGATE and Astrology

At the 8/8 point each year the Sun is in the astrological sign of Leo (represented by the Lion).   Leo’s ruling planet is our Sun, the centre of our solar system.  Leo rules the area of the Heart, which is also the centre of our physical being.  We are learning to lead from the heart, creating heart-centred actions (such as compassion and empathy). 

Leo also has the energy of the Inner Child.  Carl Jung said of Leo that it is point where we become an Individual, learning to be our Self, at this point of the year perhaps parenting our Inner Child for the first time.

8/8 from a Numerological perspective

The year we are in holds an energetic vibration, as does the month and day.  Here we are gaining insight into the powerful days of each month.

• Repeating numbers have more power than their single energetic representation. 
• Each month we experience one major repeating double-digit day – 1/1, 2/2, etc.
• This is then followed by the lessor versions – where the 2 digits of the day add back to the repeating double-digit day.  For example, 10, also represented as 1, as is 19/1, 28/1. Think of these as the aftershocks to the main seismic shift of the double-digit day. 
• The next one is 8/8 and the ancients called it LIONSGATE. 

Calculating the numerological energy behind the LIONSGATE

Mostly we distil down numbers to their single digit representation.  However, double digits do have significance and are worth considering as well.  All numbers have an impact on the physical (external) as well as the emotional/mental (internal) body.  At their highest vibration they speak to our Soul/Spirit connection.

The key numbers of LIONSGATE 8/8

8 – the number of manifestation and abundance.

8+8 is 16 – the number of wisdom and independence.

1+6 is 7 – the number of a spiritual connection.

8 – the power of Manifestation

8 is the manifestation of the energies “1 through 7” that have come before.  Each month has been a different experience in the progression of the year. 

In the Northern hemisphere it is the true heat of the Summer.  In the South interestingly it is not the depths of Winter – more when we start to see the Sun making a strong resurgence that will soon herald Spring.

Where has the year taken you so far?  By reflecting on the journey of the individual months we can see the evolution taking place within the year. The 8 of August is where we finally bring those internal changes into our reality.

• Relates to the being caught up in material wealth

Portals

If you are still with me in this discussion, then there is one more piece of the puzzle to consider.  Portals! 

• What are they? 
• Are they real?
• How do I know they affect me?

These are the questions of the mind.   Perhaps if we can put them to one side and inquire in a different direction.

• Am I different than I was last week/month/year?
• Why am I experiencing uncannily similar events?
• Do I feel like I am evolving in some way?

If we accept that we are energetic beings, then the truth will be that our energy vibration determines our experience. 

Energy is never lost or gained, rather it is transmuted from one condition to another.  What we receive from the stars (mostly from our Sun) is a magnetic field.   This changing state creates waves that affects our internal energy system.

With the star Sirius at almost twice the size of our Sun and more than 20 times brighter at its closest to Earth there is a chance we will be affected by the experience in some way.

By being exposed to the energy of Sirius each year we’re raising our vibration we will have a different reality. 

In Summary

This 8/8 Lionsgate moment speaks of us having an opportunity to step further into our power.  We can use the symbol of the Lion (proud and protective), becoming sovereign beings. 

• From this place we are independent and responsible for our own actions.  
• We do not seek validation from others. 
• Instead we turn inwards to our own intuitive guidance system. 
• Looking after (parenting) our Inner Child. 
• Using power with discernment, for the greater good rather than individual benefit.

With this information we can adjust our lives leading up to the 8/8 day.  Perhaps seeing it as an opportunity to evolve.  If we are intentional it will carry more power.  However even if we are unaware the potential for change is still there.

For the Surfer wanting to “catch a wave” it is about paddling faster before the wave is upon you.  In that way they have the momentum to ride the energy of the wave. 

At all levels this conscious effort towards personal evolution will make a difference for the future, both individually and for the collective.
